Ashlee & Brad

On their wedding day, Ashlee and Brad celebrated their love in a way that felt effortlessly relaxed, personal, and completely true to them. From an intimate proposal at home to a heartfelt ceremony by the water and a lively reception with all their favourite people, every moment reflected the warmth and connection they share.

The couple were married in a beautiful, low-key ceremony at Colmslie Beach Reserve before heading to Rivermakers Morningside to celebrate with friends and family. Their day was centred around creating an atmosphere that felt easygoing and fun, where everyone could relax, enjoy great food and music, and simply be present.

Ashlee’s bridal look embodied the classic, flattering style she had always envisioned. With the help of Jodie at AFTER FIVE, she explored silhouettes she hadn’t initially considered, ultimately finding the Harlem gown that hugged her in all the right places and felt perfectly aligned with her vision.

From a deeply personal ceremony officiated by one of her closest friends to a dance floor filled with laughter, pizza, and celebration, their wedding was a true reflection of the life they’ve built together.

WHO PROPOSED AND HOW?

Brad proposed at home in a moment that was intimate, private, and incredibly special. With their fur babies there to share in the experience, it allowed Ashlee and Brad to fully soak in the moment together without distraction, making it feel even more meaningful and personal.

WHAT INSPIRED YOUR WEDDING STYLING OR AESTHETIC?

“We wanted something that felt relaxed, fun, and really ‘us,’” Ashlee shared. It was important to them that the day didn’t feel overly formal or pressured, especially for the groom. Instead, they focused on creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere where everyone could enjoy themselves. Good food, great music, and being surrounded by their favourite people were at the heart of every decision.

TALK US THROUGH YOUR DRESS:

“The experience of choosing my dress was so special with Jodie,” Ashlee shared. With expert guidance, she was encouraged to step outside her comfort zone and try styles she hadn’t initially considered.

“In the end, I knew it was the one because it hugged me in all the right places and perfectly matched the beautiful, classic look I was hoping for.” The final choice felt effortless, flattering, and completely her.

WHAT WAS THE BEST MOMENT FOR YOU AT YOUR WEDDING?

“Tricky to choose just one! Can I pick two?!” Ashlee shared.

The first was having one of her best friends officiate the ceremony, making it feel deeply personal and relaxed. The second was looking around during the reception and seeing all of their closest people together on the dance floor, eating pizza, having a drink, and celebrating. It was everything they had hoped their wedding would be.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO OTHER BRIDES?

Focus on what truly matters to you as a couple. For Ashlee and Brad, creating a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere made the day feel authentic and meaningful. When you prioritise connection over perfection, the moments you remember most will come naturally.
