    FIND YOUR SIZE

Finding the right size for your wedding, formal or bridesmaid dress starts with your measurements.

At AFTER FIVE, we stock gowns across a wide range of sizes, with styles available from AU 2–40. As each designer follows their own size chart, we recommend using your bust, waist and hip measurements as a guide rather than relying only on your usual dress size.

Bridal and formal sizing can often feel different to everyday Australian sizing, so it is completely normal to be a different size in gowns than you are in regular clothing.

    HOW TO MEASURE YOURSELF

For the most accurate fit, use a soft measuring tape and measure over fitted clothing or undergarments.

    BUST

Measure around the fullest part of your bust, keeping the tape level across your back.

    WAIST

Measure around the narrowest part of your waist, usually just above your belly button.

    HIPS

Measure around the fullest part of your hips and bottom, keeping the tape flat and level.

    LENGTH

Length can vary depending on the designer and gown style. For formalwear, this is usually measured from the shoulder or neckline to the hem.

    PLEASE NOTE

If your measurements fall across different sizes, we generally recommend choosing the size that fits your largest measurement. It is much easier for a seamstress to take a gown in than to let it out.

Each designer may fit slightly differently depending on the fabric, structure and silhouette of the dress. Fitted gowns, corset bodices, stretch fabrics and A-line skirts may all feel different on the body.

For the most accurate sizing advice, we recommend speaking with our team or booking a private styling appointment.
